Cherry Sour Cream Dessert Bars

For the Crust
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup white sugar
- a pinch of salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 3 to 4 Tbs cold water

For the Filling
- ¾ cup sour cream
- ¼ to ⅓ cup white sugar
- 2 Tbs all purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 jar Chukar® Sour Cherry Pie Filling
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- In a food processor, combine flour, sugar and salt.
- Cube butter. Add to flour mixture and pulse until butter is fully incorporated. The mixture should be crumbly.
- Adding one Tablespoon of water at a time, pulse crust until dough begins to stick together. Remove dough from processor and divide into two even parts.
- Using one part of dough, mold to the bottom of an 8x8 or 9x9 baking pan. Set aside.
- To make the filling, whisk together sour cream, sugar, vanilla, lemon juice and egg until smooth.
- Add the salt and flour and stir until thoroughly combined. Pour mixture into pan in one even layer.
- Spoon 1 jar of Chukar® Sour Cherry Pie Filling on top of sour cream mixture.
- Swirl the two mixtures together to create a marble effect.
- Crumble the reserved dough over the top of the dish.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes.
- Remove from oven and let bars cool completely. Cut into 12 even squares and serve.
