Chocolate Cherry Dipped Churros

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Confectioner's sugar or cinnamon sugar, for topping
  • Chukar® Chocolate Cherry Dessert Sauce

Directions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine butter and water and bring to a boil.
  2. Add the flour and salt, stir until the dough comes together in a ball.
  3. Remove from heat and beat in the eggs.
  4. Mix until dough becomes smooth.
  5. Transfer dough to a pastry bag fitted with a medium or large star tip.
  6. Pour about 2-inches of oil into a deep saucepan.
  7. Bring the oil to about 365° F.
  8. Pipe about 4 inches of the churro dough into the hot oil and cook until golden brown on both sides.
  9. Remove from oil with a slotted spoon and set on paper towels to drain.
  10. Dust with confectioner's sugar or cinnamon sugar mixture.
  11. Repeat until all the dough is gone.
  12. Serve with warm Chukar® Chocolate Cherry Dessert Sauce for dipping.
